ALSYMEX designs and manufactures automated systems based on PLCs, control and piloting equipment (control panels) and a human-machine interface to optimize supervision.

The two main areas of expertise that set ALSYMEX apart are management of high availability safety automation using redundant safety PLCs up to SIL3, and management of equipment for Explosive Atmospheres.

A partner of the CEA Nuclear Energy Division, ALSYMEX is responsible for the preliminary design studies and the basic design of the Irradiated Objects Cell of the ASTRID project. These studies include the architecture of the hot cell: general design, air-conditioning, control command, remote operation components, robotics, disassembly of irradiated objects and examination after irradiation.

For the renewal of structural components of the 900 MW reactor cores of EDF's nuclear power plants, ALSYMEX has re-industrialized the manufacture of control rod guide tubes, in line with current safety requirements.

ALSYMEX also has an accredited operations team which carries out preventive and corrective maintenance of conventional fluid and gas circuits at EDF nuclear power plants.
