Full water depths services for fast black boxes search and accurate relocation

MANOPI: rapid localization of underwater flight recorders
Manopi : relocation and accurately positioning of aircraft’s black boxes

In 2012, MANOPI will be the first company in the world to offer a full range of services for relocation and accurately positioning of aircraft’s black boxes in case of at sea accident.

MANOPI will have the capacity to operate worldwide 24/7, with an intervention team ready to fly in less than 24 hours following callout.

In cooperation with IFREMER and also by using ACSA’s advanced technologies, MANOPI will own a suite of innovative equipment that, first, will be able to detect acoustic signals transmitted by black boxes pingers at long distance, even when lying at great depth and when search area is very wide. Secondly, MANOPI will provide black boxes longitude, latitude and depth with a metric accuracy.

With such an accuracy, recovery operations are no more a question of days / weeks; but a question of hours. Depending on wreck’s depth, recovery may be performed by divers, ROVs or HROVs unmanned vehicles.

All required equipment has been designed for minimum weight and volume in order to be flown through commercial airlines. Once on site, search equipment can be deployed from boats or ships mobilized locally.

The technology allows using non DP ships (Dynamic Positioning). For this reason, search can start without any delay. This point contributes to efficient crisis management.

By reducing transportation expenses and ship rental time, the overall cost of Search and Recovery operations is considerably reduced.
